Its boosting time! As celebration of the 6th anniversary of COC, Supercell has decided to give us 1 gem boosts FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH!
All of August, you can boost your Collectors for 1 gem only, including the Dark Elixir Drills, Gold Mines, and Elixir Pumps. How awesome!
Now lets run some maths shall we?
1- How much will it cost to run the boosts for an entire month?
It will cost about
510 gems to boost for an entire month. Now that might be a hefty amount, and its also at max level collectors, so lower leveled collectors will mean you will pay less, but keep in mind its optional. Personally, i recommend just boosting the Dark Elixir Drills if you dont have alot of Gems, since its 2-3 gems for those. 2-3 X 30 = 60-90 gems for an entire month.
2- Ok thats alot, but if i do boost for an entire month: How much will i earn?
Thanks to reddit user
spideyismywingma, we got the amount of loot you will obtain. Here it is:
"If you have maxed collectors and keep them running constantly, that 510 gems will net you 216,000 Dark Elixir and over 21 million Gold and Elixir each. For context, that's about 13,000 gems worth of loot."
Sweet jesus. Now thats considering you dont get raided/looted, but its still an amazing amount.
Now for you Number Crunchers out there, reddit user
Peldin83 got ya covered with this great answer:
"1 gem per collector. You have 7 gold and 7 elixir collectors. Total = 14 gems."
"Each collector produces 4200/hr normally. 7 collectors produce 705,600 per day normally. When you boost, you get an additional 705,600 gold and 705,600 elixir per day. In 2 days, you spend 28 gems (14 x 2) and you get 1,412,000 additional gold and 1,412,000 additional elixir. Now, if you account for the fact that you don't keep some of these resources because you get attacked, you're probably looking at maybe 1 mil or so of gold and elixir that you actually gain, give or take.
Alternatively, you can spend 25 gems on a training potion which will lower the training time of troops, heroes, and spells by 75% which essentially allows you to attack 4 times more often for an hour. Most farming armies take 30 minutes or less to train. So normally you can make two attacks every hour. When you use the training potion, you can make 8 attacks in the same hour using the same farming army. A typical farming attack should net you around 500k gold and elixir. So with two attacks per hour, you can farm 1 mil gold and elixir per hour. But with a boost, you can farm 4 mil gold and elixir in an hour. The difference is 3 mil additional gold and elixir.
So in comparison, boosting collectors costs 28 gems for 1 mil gold/elixir. Buying a training potion costs 25 gems for 3 mil gold/elixir. Of course, that 3 mil can vary based on the competency of your farming. If you are only netting 300k per attack with a 30 minute army, then a training potion will only make you an additional 1.8 mil gold and elixir. Still a lot better than collectors."
Now the only question remains: How will i farm those gems? Pretty easily actually. You just need to remove stuff from your village, and from the Builder Base. All this alongside having a Gem Mine in the Builder Base should give you a good amount of gems to boost everything.
Overall, i think if you have a good amount of gems, get those collectors boosted, otherwise just boost Drills so you can get a great amount of Dark Elixir.
As of now, im boosting everything, but as soon as i start hitting a low amount of Gems im going to start boosting just the drills, but we will see.
Have Fun!
